Educators of Color
The mission of this working committee of EDU is to develop the community and leadership of educators of color in our union to continue the legacy of struggle for education justice for our children. We do this in the spirit and the knowledge that all communities in the struggle benefit from our work just as the struggle for civil rights benefited all oppressed and those fighting for justice.
Guiding Questions & Some Solutions
These are our touchstone questions that guide our work:
- What are the issues important to the families and students of color?
- What do we need from our union to make it a more welcoming, inclusive and valuable experience for educators of color?
- What policy and advocacy should our union support and develop to have a positive impact on educators, parents and students of color within the public schools?
